Spare Air 300 provides 57 breaths at the surface, or 3 cubic feet of air. Our largest Spare Air 600 provides a whopping 114 breaths at the surface, or 6 cubic feet of air. In most diving situations, rising to the surface from recreational depths takes only a few breaths and no more than a few minutes.
Is spare air safe?
Yes, they have been tested and proven effective in all recreational diving conditions. What is the recommended depth? The SPARE AIR model is designed for recreational diving limits of less than 100 feet.
How long can you stay underwater when snorkeling?
With the snorkel above the surface, a snorkeler on the water can remain face down indefinitely. When diving, the snorkel doesn’t possess any breathing advantages so a beginner may be underwater for 45 seconds to 1 minute. A more experienced snorkeler might be underwater for between 1 to 2 minutes.
How long does it take to fill spare air with hand pump?
To fill a 6.0 cu. ft. cylinder: approximately 900 pumps, 1.5 – 2 hours with breaks (important to let the pump cool down every 50 pumps or so).
